Asking readers to support a newsletter for the price of a beer or a cup of coffee each month is a popular way to try to make a living these days. On Substack, this requires sharing revenue with people whoβ¦letβs just say, their interests donβt align with mine.

Rumor has it that publishers, like tech investors, are impressed by numbers that go up, even when those numbers count eyeballs and not dollars. I plan to send a book proposal around to acquisition editors next summer, so helping AI Log grow is the best way to support Phase 2.
Some of the best essays on AI Log started as paid talks. Pointing conference and workshop organizers in my direction is a great way to help me pay bills while I write for free and teach for close to that.
