How to Support AI Log

Asking readers to support a newsletter for the price of a beer or a cup of coffee each month is a popular way to try to make a living these days. On Substack, this requires sharing revenue with people who…let’s just say, their interests don’t align with mine.

I have no plans to turn on paid subscriptions or put up a tip jar. Subscribing simply means you get each essay in your email inbox. Should I depart Substack, I will use it to let you know how to find my writing.

Rumor has it that publishers, like tech investors, are impressed by numbers that go up, even when those numbers count eyeballs and not dollars. I plan to send a book proposal around to acquisition editors next summer, so helping AI Log grow is the best way to support Phase 2.

Some of the best essays on AI Log started as paid talks. Pointing conference and workshop organizers in my direction is a great way to help me pay bills while I write for free and teach for close to that.

Beer and coffee are important to my writing process, so if you do want to buy me a beverage, then let’s try to meet up in person. Seriously, get in touch.
